Calculating Thom polynomials
Seminar Room 1, Newton Institute
AbstractThere is a polynomial invariant, introduced by Thom in the 1950s, which links the enumerative characteristics of manifolds with the type of singularities which cannot be avoided in maps between them. In this talk, I will report on recent progress in calculating these polynomials.
If it doesn't, something may have gone wrong with our embedded player.
We'll get it fixed as soon as possible.
