Bore-Soliton-Splash Resurge for Rogue Waves, Tsunamis & Wave Energy

Abstract

We were able to create an anomalously high rogue wave splash in a water wave channel with a convergence involving bores and solitons, and we could control it. Surprisingly, this man-made extreme wave is related to solutions of the KP-equation, rogue waves in multidirectional seas, tsunami run-up into coastal valleys, and certain wave-energy devices, as we will show.
