Conjugacy of Good Tori

3rd March 2005

Author: Gregory Cherlin (Rutgers University)

We discuss a conjugacy theorem for maximal "good" tori in groups of finite Morley rank. This result, which generalizes the conjugacy of maximal tori in algebraic groups, plays a role in the classification of simple groups of finite Morley rank and even type. The proof is based on a "generic covering" lemma which has a flavor similar to, but looser than, a conjugacy theorem.
