Effective Computational Methods for Highly Oscillatory Problems: The Interplay between Mathematical Theory and Applications

Asymptotics for linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equations with periodic potentials

Author: Christof Sparber (University of Vienna)

We consider semiclassically scaled linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equation with highly oscillatory periodic potentials. We will discuss rigorous asymptotic descriptions for such problems as well as a recently developed numerical approach based on Bloch decomposition.
