Segregation of Binary Mixtures in a Steady Inclined Flows

Abstract: We first study monodisperse granular flows down an inclined chute with various boundary conditions: eg., fixed bumpy boundary, smooth heat absorbing boundary and fluctuating glassy boundary. We try to see whether kinetic theory can apply to dense inclined flows and compare our results to those of Pouliquen. With the solutions obtained from monodisperse flows, we try to predict the segregation pattern of binary mixtures.
