Turbulent Suspensions

Abstract: The continuum model for particle-fluid suspensions will be discussed. The model uses k-epsilon dynamics to account for the turbulence in the flow. The effect of turbulence on dispersion for suspended sediment is modeled, and the relation to diffusion models is discussed. In addition, a crude collision model for concentrated suspensions is used, and the combination used to predict concentration and velocity profiles for uniform flow.
