The logarithmic Laplace transform in convex geometry

Klartag, B (Tel-Aviv)
Wednesday 22 June 2011, 15:30-16:30

Seminar Room 2, Newton Institute Gatehouse

My plan is to give a slow introduction to the use of the logarithmic Laplace transform in obtaining bounds on the isotropic constants of convex bodies. We will review the proofs of Bourgain's n^{1/4} bound, the bound by the width of the thinshell, and the bound in term of the sub-gaussian coefficient. This talk is based on joint works with Ronen Eldan and with Emanuel Milman.
