Automorphic forms on SL(3) and higher rank groups

Miller, S (Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey)
Tuesday 07 February 2012, 12:00-13:00

Seminar Room 1, Newton Institute

I'll give an overview of automorphic forms beyond SL(2), explaining some of the highlights of the theory and several of its fundamental unresolved challenges. I will keep to the analytic side, emphasizing the impact of the Langlands' program and also some results which have been useful in string theory.
